About Hope Against Hunger, Inc.
Our Mission
At Hope Against Hunger, Inc., we believe no one should have to choose between feeding their family and meeting other basic needs. We are a faith-driven community organization dedicated to serving individuals and families experiencing hardship by providing food, clothing, hygiene essentials, and compassion support. Our mission goes beyond meeting the physical needs. We strive to restore hope, preserve dignity, and build lasting relationships with our community one meal, one family, and one act of kindness at a time.
Hope Against Hunger exists to demonstrate the love of Christ through practical service. By providing essential resources and creating meaningful connections, we seek to strengthen our community and remind every person who walks through our doors that they are valued, respected, and never alone.
Our Programs
We offer a variety of programs.
Food Assistance- Through our pantry pack program, we provide nutritious groceries and food resources for individuals, families, and seniors experiencing food insecurity.
Community Closet- Closed in January 2026 for restoration and renovation, our community closet served approximately 600 individuals and families each year. We hope to open this again later in 2026/early 2027.
Annual Community Holiday Meals- Each holiday season we bring our community together through fellowship, shared meals, and acts of generosity, ensuring that nobody celebrates alone.
Who We Serve
As of most recent reports, 13.7% of the reported Osage County, KS population is food insecure. This is an increase to the prior reported period, and is expected to continue to rise based on trends with inflation and increased cost of living.
Hope Against Hunger serves individuals and families throughout our community who are experiencing financial hardship, food insecurity, unexpected emergencies, or other difficult life circumstances.
Whether someone needs assistance once or ongoing support, every person is welcomed with compassion and respect.
