Community Impact

Food insecurity in Osage County, Kansas

Food insecurity has a significant negative impact on families and communities in Osage County, Kansas, where approximately 13.7% of residents experience food insecurity. This is a 3.7% increase over the past two years. This means more than one in 10 people in the county may not have consistent access to proper nutrition. Food insecurity forces families to make difficult choices between buying groceries or paying bills, and has detrimental effects on academics, employment performance, mental health, and overall physical health.

Pantry Packs

Hope Against Hunger food assistance to approximately 140 families in Osage County, Kansas, through the year 2025. These pantry packs provide meat, eggs, milk, and other nutritious items in every pack.

Holiday Community Meals

We provide annual community meals each year for Thanksgiving and Christmas, averaging around 150 plates served each meal.

Clothing Assistance

We have been blessed to provide clothing assistance to nearly 400 individuals and families through our community closet each year. In 2026, the closet will look a little different, as we have cut down on space, but we have clothing available upon request!
